Some seriously weird characters - I mean, really weird. This one was a little different and I was pleased with the way it played out.Ī bit of a personal cliffhanger - Really wondering how things will play out with Shannon's dad. Usually it involves our sleuth in some kind of situation they foolishly got themselves into. Intensity - Every one of these books has a scene of great tension with the murderer. Whodunnit - I wasn't sure who was the culprit, but I wasn't at all surprised when it was revealed. There's nothing like a mystery that keeps you flipping pages. Once we got the opening sequence out of the way to lay down the foundation, things really didn't let up until the epilogue. What I liked about Shot Through the Hearth :įast-paced - I will tell you what: this one didn't waste a whole lot of time putting the pedal to the metal. ![]() I wasn't exactly sure, as it kicked off, if I would be able to get into this one, with its inventor/environmentalist conference, but.let's talk about it. We were able to see all of our favorite characters and we even found out information that we didn’t know we wanted until the moment Ally Carter put that little seed of information in our head. I was blown away by how well everything was tied together so neatly. United We Spy is exactly what I wanted in the last book of this amazing series. It was a very wise decision on my part because I had forgotten a lot of key details of the series (I read the first book in 2008). I reread the first 4 books in the series and skimmed the fifth one in order to get ready for the final book in the Gallagher Girls series. Sometimes when I read graphic novels anyway, I take in too much visual information at once or none at all, and the result is an attempt to capture the whole of the whole story in one fell swoop and often not getting much of either. So the effect overall is that we are looking at a storytelling form, both graphic novels and the Western, and breaking the walls around both and taking in a lot of the details from both all at once.
